Summer skies on Sanibel are fantastic when the storm clouds quickly roll in and out changing the colors in an instant.
I snapped these photos throughout Saturday and Sunday when I saw an extreme color change.
I’m always in awe of Mother Nature’s paint brush.
Storm skies can be so beautiful… until the cracks of thunder make us head for shelter.
Then after the rain dies down and the lightning passes…. chasing the rainbow begins!
But it fades so fast…
But no worries, just when you least expect it, a little piece of hope pops out again.
Wow, Pam! A couple of those look like Thomas Kinkaid paintings. Beautiful!
You could win awards with these photos!! Awesome!!!
Stunning!!
These are so inspiring – thank you!
The first rainbow photo has a double rainbow. Do you see it? gorgeous!

WONDERFUL…..These pictures could be used as a framed collection on a wall. Thank you for sharing.
Paradise lends itself well to your artistry :-)
Beautiful!
Beautiful pictures! We were visiting FGCU last week for my daughter’s orientation. As I was leaving her on campus overnight and heading back to our Sanibel condo (and feeling a little sad, I might add) I looked back at her dorm and saw a double rainbow over it. It made me smile and feel like everything was going to be great there for her :)
Fantastic! Thanks so much!
Hi Susan, i sent you an email with a shell ID question, did you see it? Thanks!
A great series of photos showing some of God’s artistic accomplishments…
Thank you for sharing, Pam…
Thanks Pam am down here at last to see for our self. It is beautiful. Two weeks of the year July & October is not enough.
Beautiful pictures. Thank you for sharing!
Coaxing my thoughts once more, toward our beautiful little island. TN is beautiful here too right now with enough rain to make the yards bright green. But somehow I wish to be there in Sanibel, enjoying so many beautiful things. Thanks once again for the chance to “be there vicariously!!!!!”
Sanibel is beautiful in rain or in shine, Pam. :) It’s like heaven on earth!
xoox laurie
OMG! Girl – you sure have an eye for taking the most luscious photos! Whether it’s the sky, the land, or the sea (and all it’s treasures) Pam your photography is always spot on – what a visual delight! Saying thanks for keeping Sanibel closer to our hearts through your blog never seems like quite enough . . .
Great pictures – thanks for sharing
Wonderful, beautiful pictures!! So sad my trip is over! It was wonderful and we found many beautiful shells! Sorry I didn’t get to meet you in person! :( Thanks for your wonderful blog!!
P.S. Could cassiopeia jellyfish (upside down jellyfish) be in the water of the Sanibel side of Blind Pass? A waitress said that could have been what stung us.. Just wondering. It wasn’t enough to keep me out of the water!
Such beautiful pictures. We have been enjoying the sunsets as we are on island. Shelling has been slow but low tide and west winds today heading to blind pass around 6!
so beautiful!
W…O…W!!!!! These are just breathtaking, Pam! Awesome colors. Ain’t Mother Nature grand? I see a coffee table book in your future of all the glorious photos you’ve taken on Sanibel!
These are beautiful! Especially the first pink one. Is there a chance of getting a high resolution picture uploaded to the site?
I’m sorry Crystal. I cant upload high res pics because a). I might crash my site. And b). , In a few months, I will design a calendar with my best photos to sell here. That one will probably be in it! I’m going to try to sell enough calendars so I can keep this site going. ( it’s an expensive habit). I hope you understand! :)
