YESSSSS!!!!!!!! Shellabaloo 3 will be August 26 through 30th, 2013!
If you missed the first two Shellabaloo events on Sanibel Island, Florida in January and May, you missed spectacsheller times …but now it’s YOUR chance to have all the fun! Shell to your hearts content and at the same time, get to know other shell crazy people with the same shelling passion as you. I can’t wait either because I’ll get to hang out and bond with shellacious new friends for 5 days! It’s a blast!
Island Inn Beachfront Resort has put together a spectacsheller shelling package from August 26 to August 30 so we can shell together, share stories and meals and get to know each other. It will be soooo exciting to meet y’all! Here are the details!
If you are familiar with the Island Inn, you know that it is a beachfront hotel that has kept the unique feel of “old Florida charm” with a rich history of seashells. This was where the Sanibel Shell Fair and Show was first started. You will feel right at home because throughout the property there are shells here and there. I think they love shells as much as we do!
We’ll start it off with a welcome meet and greet….in other words… paarrrtaaay! Then we’ll sit down to a fabulous dinner together…. along with Super Sheller Clark!. And that’s NOT the only dinner included… ALL MEALS are included in this package. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner for each full day you are (see itinerary).
The next morning, we’ll get a very special private tour given by Dr Jose Leal of the Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum … then hit the beaches to shell, shell, shell!
Island Inn has provided another exshellent Shellabaloo adventure for us as well… A Captiva Cruises full day boat trip to Cayo Costa! Wahoo! There’s a good chance we’ll get to see dolphins and manatees on the way there too. Another reason why we love shelling.
But the most important thing is… getting to shell together makes our shelling connections even stronger- it’s like a family. Here are a few snapshots of some our unforgettable experiences we shared in the first 2 Shellabaloos…
Call 800-851-5088 today and reserve your spot for this awesome exshellaganza by booking a room for 2 or 3…
… or a cottage that sleeps 6 to 8!

looks like you guys are still finding alot of gems lately! Hope everyone has a great time on #3 The island inn is a very hospitable place! Patty and I are doing our anniversery there at the end of the month. Have fun and thanks for all you do!
Joe Star! Shellabaloo (The Maiden Voyage) was so much fun to revisit when I just looked through the photos for this post. You were in every photo just about! Brings back great memories- Hope to see you and Patty when you are here on your special visit.
Pam, you really started “Something” from the moment you tied an olive shell and string on my wrist at Shellabaloo 2. You compounded that “Something” when you gave us video instructions on how to make the shell & string bracelets. I made some bracelets that flowed to family and friends across The Great State of Texas (and that’s no small thing). More bracelets are winging their way to my sister in Hawaii (sending shells to Hawaii?) where she will have them blessed by a Kahuna before sharing them with her friends. Lady Pam, that “Something” that you started is The Shell-owship of the String! Thanks so much for the lovely reminder that every day is a gift.
Congrats on a great line…from a Tolkien lover as well as a shell lover and a Pamfan.
Dear Dear Gina,
You touched my heart that you have shared the gift of the olive bracelet with your family and friends… and your sweet words. Thank YOU! And you know I love the new name you have given it “The Shellowship of the String”! LOL And blessed by a Kahuna! Love Love Love. So happy you were a part of Shellaballo 2!
Don’t hesitate to sign up. We had a great time
With people of all ages and diverse backgrounds.
Have a wonderful anniversary Joe and Patty.
We have moved to Kansas City from Atlanta
and will not be able to get to Sanibel as often.
Hope for a fall trip.
Congrats on your move! Enjoy your grand kids!
I wish that MurexAlice and I could join you for Shellabaloo 3. I know that you are going to have a great time. Unfortunately, the timing just does not work for us. With the start of the school year in late August/early September, the timing may somewhat limit the interest in this Shellabaloo. I hope you will have Shellabaloos in November and/or January, since those times would work much better for us and probably for others. Pam, thanks for all you do to support and encourage shell collecting on Sanibel Island and beyond.
Unfortunately, we are also “back-to-school” the last week of August. One plus, maybe the beaches won’t be as crowded then because school has already been in session for a few weeks in Ft. Myers. Sounds like a blast! I’d love to meet Pam and Clark.
Murex Ken, if you were there, it would be icing on the cake!
Looks like so much fun! Thanks for organizing another one! Wish I could go too but work will be getting in the way since I have a project due then :(. I’m sure everyone will have such a fun time!!
Like MurexKen we would hope you have one the latter part of January. We like to come to Sanibel to escape the snow and cold. This year we will be celebrating our 40th wedding aniversary. Hope to see MurexKen and MurexAlice then.
Pat
I booked the trip this morning! I am so excited. I have never been to Sanibel.
I have enjoyed this website for over a year looking at all the shells and dreaming of the day I can find some for my own. This will be a dream come true.
Looking forward to meeting other shell-aholics.
Yahoo!!!! Nancy, it will be FABULOSO!! I can’t wait!
Hoping to be able to join you for Shellabaloo 3!! Would be an amazing experience I’d hate to miss! Fingers crossed. ;-)
I hope so too! My fingers are crossed too Genine!
I would live to do a Shellabaloo, but being a school teacher, I have to work my rips around the school calendar. I know it will be a great time!
My real life shelling sister, Martha and I are in…so happy. Working on air, but we are so excited to have a Shellabaloo time.
Oh My Gosh! Marie! This is going to be soooooo much fun! Cant wait to meet you and Martha.
Hi!!! I will be on Sanibel Aug 23rd-31st!!! Is there a day pass available? We already have accomidations at our time share.
Oh Deana, Im so sorry to say that there is no day pass available since Island Inn has so graciously put this whole package together and space is very limited to keep it family style. Maybe you can join us the next time or next year. I know it would be better if we had dates way in advanced but there is so much to take in consideration that it can only work this way for now. Again, so sorry!
Thanks Pam for getting back to me! Maybe I will see you on the beach!

Alas, I am unable to participate in this Shellabaloo… Boo hoo! I soo want to make it one of these times. I did make it to a Cayo Costa trip back in March (i had my green i love shelling shirt on!) and had a blast! I really enjoy your blog, Pam. It makes me get out into my “backyard” much more often. :-)
still searching for my Junonia…
