At Blind Pass Sanibel, shellebrates Wendy for holidays…
As the Gulf Of Mexico continues to leave gifts to amaze…
For some good girls and boys like Christina and John …
With these gifts that arrive, it’s hard to stay calm…
No lumps of coal for David and Leah…
For Frenchy and Debbie, a few treasure of the sea…
An ALPHABET CONE, how can you not like…
“Shelling at Christmas is fantastic” says Mike…
Warm days and sunshine with had full of treasure…
Shelling on Sanibel is a pure and simple pleasure.
Happy Shellidays! Wishing you were here.
PS- it looks like the parking lot at Blind Pass Sanibel is going to stay open for Christmas week. The sand bar there looks like it is continuing to produce some nice shells like the ones these “good girls and boys” are finding… Enjoy!
Merry Christmas and Happy Shellidays to you and yours! Loved the poetry, Thank you for all the enjoyment you give to us all year long!
Jan from KY
Ah, Sanibel… the gift that keeps on giving! :)
Happy Holidays to everyone.
Question: what is the shell in Mike’s hand on the left, between the pear whelk and the rough scallop, surrounded by juvenile fighting conchs?
Hi Susan, he asked me too… it’s a tinted cantharus! I love those!
Ah I wondered if it might be that, and yes they are very cool-looking — I guess it was a large one! Nice!
Pam, wishing you and Clark a Merry Christmas, full of the wonderful things and people that are special to you. Thank you for the gift of yourselves that you give to all of us.
Merry Christmas to all those shellers and to you Pam and Clark.
Thanks Pam for such a nice update! (Also, thanks to the “powers that be” who are keeping the parking lot at BP Sanibel open for Christmas week.) The shells Mike has are amazing. The large rough scallop and the striped pear welks….WOW!
Merry Christmas, Sanibel!
P.S. Does anyone know if any resorts are giving last minute deals? I have plane tickets for the end of the week, but no place to stay; I can’t decide where I want to be, home or on the beach. Maybe if the right deal came along I’d fly down. Crazy? I know!
You could try the Chamber of Commerce website for Sanibel. They often post “specials” or give them a call…if anyone would know they would. Merry Christmas!
Thank you for that tip!
Janet, I think South Seas is giving 20% discount until the end of the week and they will donate to the children’s hospital as well. Call and ask them about it… http://t.southseas.com
Thank you for the tip! I won’t make it down this week, but hopefully soon! I’ll be there in spirit.
Santa brought me some goodies from your online shop! The calendar, a sweatshirt, and an i love shelling t-shirt. I love them all!
OMG! Santa is awesome! Glad you love them all xo

This Christmas morning, the very first present I opened was iloveshelling. Although the Sonoran Desert is still dark and 36°, the happy smiles of shellers in your photos warmed my heart right up like a predawn sunrise !!
I’m going to grab a handful of jingle shells, shake ’em with joy as I sing the words to the 12 SHELLS OF SANIBEL… Pam, Merry Christmas and thank you for the colorful year~round cyber gifts that you and your smart, fun shell family share so generously :)
Shellotte
Frigid temperatures and snow up in Chicago today. My husband just asked me if I’m thinking about Sanibel. LOL!
I am planning on coming down the 30th-1st of jan. ( next week) and I was concerned when I saw your post saying that blind pass beach parking was open Christmas week. Does that mean they are going to close the parking lot next week? I am super excited to spend my new year there, with some good old shell therapy!
Tracly
P.s. Maybe I’ ll actually run in to you on the beach this time, I have been there dozens of times and still haven’t ran into you!
No worries! They have kept the Sanibel side parking lot open and they are almost done so I’m hoping both lots will be open any time now. Hope to c u too
Merry Christmas!
Pam and Clark, hope your Christmas was Blessed and you have a happy and healthy 2014. Thank you for all these years of awesome shellformation!!!
I am retiring this year and so instead of coming on my annual Winter weeks in Florida, I am taking my daughters for a “shellabration” to Saniblel in November. Until then I will be cyber shelling with you every week!
Pam,
I moved to the Tampa, Florida area in 2011. I discovered shelling in a big way when I found Honeymoon Island State Park. I try to go as often as possible. I made my first trip to Sanibel last week and found some nice treasure. Banded tulips, murex, fighting conch, whelks and others. I have posted a picture of some shell artwork I displayed on my blog, 15septemberarts.blogspot.com. I have linked to your blog.
Blessings in the New Year.
