Nothing beats spending time with family, especially on Sanibel.
We were fortunate to have Clark’s brother Scott and sister-in-law Janet come for a fun visit from Texas and also do a little beach combing as well. Of course they are shellers!
There’s only one problem… the time goes by too quickly. There’s too much to catch up on, too much to see, too much to take in and before you know it the time is gone.
It’s just like the ebb and flow of the tide, one has to enjoy every moment and never take for granted what’s right in front of you.
Last night at Gulfside City Park beach, Clark showed me the smallest of his beach finds that he placed on an old broken PEN SHELL. Even though the sun had already set and I didn’t have much light to see the treasures which made the photo a little grainy, it looked so beautiful to me….SAND DOLLARS, WENTLETRAPS and BABYS EARS with a few of my finds too.
Each day is a gift.
I love that little arrowhead sand dollar. I found a large, perfect one my very first time in Sanibel (5 years ago). I haven’t found one since, but I am hopeful eat time that I return that I will! :-)
what is that shell above the baby apple murex in the picture of the minis on the pen shell? :D
Pam – you are a gift to me each time I read your blog! Your photos and words ALWAYS bring a smile to my face, and put warmth in my heart! I am so thankful for all you do, and your genuine care for Mother Nature!
I love seeing your friends and relative enjoying the wonderful fun of shelling and seeing what mother nature has for us to enjoy, I go daily to little hickory and find something different each trip and the real love of shelling takes me out there daily for the sun, surf and smell and thanks to pam and clark i’ve learned to love it more.
Very beautiful pics Pam. :)
I could feel the love & warmth in your photos and kind words. Beautiful finds…as ALL are! Enjoy your weekend.
Beautiful, inspiring pictures as usual. Is there a secret to finding baby’s ears? This is my fourth visit to wonderful Sanibel and I haven’t spotted an ‘ear’ yet–maybe I just don’t recognize them.
I can’t wait to get back!
Lovely pictures and words Pam. So true.
Shelling becomes an obsession with my family when we visit Sanibel…even on the way to dinner
I love their framed sifter. Where can I get one?
There is nothing better than spending time with family and shelling together. Hooray for Super Sheller Clark to find some minis! He usually finds the “whoppers.” Haha.
