Not only are shellers excited when the seas get stirred up from a brewing storm but the surfers come out in droves.
I grew up in Virginia Beach where the surfers have all summer to fine tune their skills so I’m amazed when I see really rad (hehe) surfers in Captiva where the gulf is normally too flat for practicing their moves. This photo doesn’t really let you see the nice swells or the surfers’ rides but they were just as excited about these waves today as we will hopefully be in a few days when the shells start rolling in. My fingers are crossed we have the same luck.
