Clark went out this morning to Blind Pass but didn’t find new shells coming in. He said the sand had filled in all the way to the end of the jetty but there’s still a pile to sift through up on the beach (about 7 shellers working it).
Then he went on to West Gulf Dr around #5, #6 and #7 but only found smaller piles that didn’t look very new. He did see new PEN SHELLS along with the hinged white CLAMS lining the beach. In this same line he found about nine good larger 3″ PAPER FIGS (“some big boys”, as he says) which we haven’t seen in a while (without damage) and some bright orange SCALLOPS.
He moved on to the Lighthouse beach but he said that was the worst….very few shells. After seeing the shells coming in late yesterday afternoon, I thought for sure we’d have a good day today with the high winds. Well, the winds shifted and Big Mama Nature took them all back.
