My friend Lisa and I went on a road trip to the east coast of Florida to visit girlfriends. We went to North Palm Beach on Sunday (Mah Jongg with Sarah and Darlene!!) and today we stopped at The Breakers in Palm Beach for lunch with another dear friend, Judy.
On the beach at The Breakers, I saw plenty of broken shells in the surf but the waves were very rough and choppy that I couldn’t pick through them. Then I realized that along with the seaweed high on the beach were these PORTUGUESE MAN O’ WAR. They are so beautiful and colorful but their tentacles will sting and leave welts if you brush up against them…..even if they are dead on the beach. Whew! I’m so happy I didn’t get stung because a day at The Breakers makes me a woman o’ peace.
they can get really big bigger then a human i love this story a lot is it a baby that is in the picture
the portuguese man of war is very deadly

Thanks for this identification… I thought – just a ‘jelly fish’ as I would know it! I have a gorgeous photo if you are interested in seeing it.
