The sunset was gorgeous at Blind Pass on Captiva Island but the new shell pile was even more exciting. New shells are coming in!! The first 5 minutes I was there, I found a FLAT SCALLOP (one of my favs).
Tina and her family were visiting Orlando (from France!) where they read about the shelling in Sanibel so they packed up and headed south on I-75 to see what it was all about. They hit Blind Pass at the perfect time this afternoon to load up on LETTERED OLIVES, TULIPS, LIGHTENING WHELKS, FIGHTING CONCHS, and SCALLOPS. Now they know what all of the fuss is about…..they were having a ball.
Stunning sunset photo! One of the best I’ve ever seen.
Absolutely gorgous photo!
I had to come back and tell you – I loaded your picture as my screen saver. Hope you don’t mind. My daughter saw it and knew exactly where it was taken at. We are noticing ALL the great shells in that pile. Wow!!!
Absolutely beautiful Sunset!!! My husband and I follow your site daily and we love it! It makes us feel as if we are there every day! You have done a wonderful job and we hope you never stop! Thanks so much!!!!
OMG! Thank you so much!! Kim, I love that you loaded this picture for your screen saver. Sunsets that beautiful need to be shared. I’m on my way to check out those shells those waves left behind.
This picture made me think of an interesting metaphor for life.
“Every stormy sea will bring in something beautiful.”
Kim, I love that quote!
