My friend Lisa sent me these pictures today of cool beach art made of PEN SHELLS and other odds and ends from the beach………like a fish head! So creative.
I also got pictures from my Naples friend Marjorie today showing us the shells she got from Keewaydin Island last week. Clark and I went there a few years ago and found a good variety of shells (including WORM SHELLS!) on the south point of the island.
It’s possible it was just shell art. However, the week before Harris took these photos I had seen a tarpon on the beach the same size at about the same spot. Poor fish couldn’t take all the cold weather and had washed ashore when some of the other fish had. When I saw the pictures Harris sent us, I could only think someone had some stinky hands after their shell creation.
Keewaydin Island holds a special place in my shelling heart. I found my first (and still only) junonia while there :)
Beautiful place!
