Small shells at the lighthouse on Sanibel Island
After going to every beach on Captiva today and finding nothing, we headed to the east end to shell at the lighthouse. The minis never disappoint. Look how cute! There are all sorts….BABY’S EARS, WENTLETRAPS, BUBBLES, DRILLS, TULIPS, a BUTTON and more. I couldn’t really get the angle on the tiny NUTMEG (the second to the last shell on the bottom row) that Clark found but it is perfectly adorable too.

Oh yeah, I saw some awesome manatees in Captiva so i’ll have a video to show you tomorrow or Monday. They are so funny!
We found many,many minatures when we shelled Lighthouse a couple weeks ago. They are so much fun to look for and just as pleasing to find as the bigger shells.It’s taken me a while to find my miniature “eye”, but I’ve finally got it!!We found more bubble shells than I have ever seen in one place, mini horse conchs and four baby ears- plus many other varieties too numerous to list here. I’ll say it again- Lighthouse is my favorite spot for shells and serenity. Shell on!
It really is serene, isn’t it? I think that’s why I always find shells there. I’m never in a hurry to leave, it’s peaceful, and it’s so picturesque. I’m always happy at the lighthouse.

I just need to move to Sanibel! That’s all there is to it. I can’t stand it anymore…MUST HAVE SHELLS!!! Gotta have it/them. LOL Love the minis. I don’t remember seeing these interesting lovelies. Of course our first time there two years ago we were newbies and didn’t know what to look for. I can’t wait to come back and find me some of these darlings! I am currently going blind online trying to find my hub and I a place for the week between Christmas and New Years that isn’t going to break the bank! I will prevail! Just gotta keep looking. Wish me luck.
It’s amazing how many unbroken bubble shells you can find, even after people have been walking past them all day. You had some great finds. Love all those wentletraps and baby ears. :) I enjoyed reading your poem too.
