We almost had the whole beach to ourselves this evening…….since it was raining. I was soaked but very happy to find this TRUE TULIP in a deep, dark brick color. It’s not huge…..but it’s a beauty.
I caught up with the 2 shellers in the first photo who were in the distance on the sand bar. Aaron and his sister Holly were the other die-hard shellers taking advantage of the low tide. This was their first visit with their family from Indiana so they weren’t going to miss a moment because of a little rain.
We don’t see these ducks often hanging out on the beach but maybe this guy heard about the low tide shelling too?
That’s really pretty..never seen one that color.
You are right. That is a beauty!
More beautiful pictures, Pam.
Oh, what a treasure you found! I’ve never seen one in that color, it’s gorgeous. A little rain never stopped me from shelling either. I miss shelling on the Gulf Coast, pretty slim pickins’ around here so far.
Bad weather brings good shelling! Gorgeous tulip! I’ve only found one that color before and that was during bad weather, too. Tropical storm Mitch was passing overhead, but we die hard shellers were out picking up treasures left and right, lol.
So pretty! I would turn that into a hair clip :)
i too love the color, would be pretty on a cord for a necklace. that duck is adorable an unexpected. your shot is very well done, love the composition.
That is gorgeous. I love shelling at low tide, and I often try to conjure up a storm before we make our annual mecca to Sanibel. Just so the treasures do wash in!
What a perfect shell:)
Awesome picture of the true tulip at low tide. I would have been out shelling too. I found a small one like yours a couple of weeks ago. Love the color.
Great pictures!!!
Pam, thanks for the post! It lead me to your blog and I’ve enjoyed looking at it. This will be our first trip to Sanibel, and I am so excited. It looks so relaxing and non commercial….just the kind of place we love. The kids and I can’t wait to go shelling. :)
Deana just told me that this tulip looks like it’s made of chocolate. No wonder we like it some much, right?
Gorgeous!
it is so beautiful!!
