There were tons (ok, I could be exaggerating …..I saw maybe 15) of BROWN SPINY STARFISH washing up at the lighthouse beach on Sanibel yesterday. This happens pretty often so I try to throw back the ones that I can see their little feelers on the under side still moving. Aha!….but this guy was stiff as a board and dried out so he came home with me. He’s only an inch and a half and as cute as can be. I already found a home for him too. A few years ago, I made a few frames made with only WORM SHELLS that I found. It’s not like this picture frame needed anything else but I really wanted to show this starfish off. You can’t miss him now!
Beautiful worm shell frame! I think the starfish really sets it off!!!! Love it!
I just have to say, I am SO jealous of your worm shell motherlode. I would KILL for your worm shell mirror. Two with tips down, a thousand or so to go! :-)
That frame is AWESOME! I wouldn’t have thought Worm shells could have been beautiful!
oh how cute!!
Hey Pam:
Hope you don’t mean you’re really THROWING the starfish back, as they (like all shellfish and humans) will get contrecoup wounds from being thrown…or rather, from the hard landing.

The Worm Shell Mirror is amazing. What a wonderful idea! And I agree that the little starfish is the perfect touch to that beautiful piece. Happy Shelling!!!
What a great idea! Very creative and inspirational indeed. The cute little starfish is the “icing on the cake”!
Great idea!
