We have been waiting all week to go boating this weekend to North Captiva and Cayo Costa….. an then the wind picked up. We checked out how rough the water was last night to make our final decision whether to get the boat out and saw this rough water. It’s beautiful and it’s stirring the shells up out there (!!!) but we decided to wait.
Even though I don’t have shell photos, I’ve had several of yall still want beach pictures since it’s getting cold up north. You asked…. and I’m here to deliver! Thank you for your comments!! Keep them coming and if I can help, I’ll try to do my best.
Gorgeous photos!
Pam – incredible photos as always. I hope you find some good *candy this weekend!
I finally had the chance to go to Cayo Costa on Tuesday, October 26. The surf was rough( it was the middle of the day), but I did collect 25 urchins from the beach and several large, beautiful sunray venus shells; a few were full shells! What a breathtaking view from the shore-huge beach, water as far as the eye could see, and the sky an unbelievable color of blue! We took a cruise from Punta Gorda-2 hours out of Charlotte Harbor to get there, 3 hours on the island and another 2 hours to get back. I would love to be on Cayo Costa for low tide the next time I go, and I will find a shorter boat trip to get there. But it was all worth it just to experience this amazing part of the shelling world! :) A shelling friend of mine told me that I just HAD to go there- and she was SO right!!
Awesome sunset pic..one of these days we’re gonna make the trek across state to visit your lovely seashore. I imagine the Atlantic here is quite rough today, too..what happened to Fall?
awesome…….
Great pics! I’m longing for a beach weekend myself, but the weather just had to be chilly this week. Hubby is wanting to get the boat out, too. He hasn’t had a Gulf fishing trip for about a month. I think it’s the longest he’s gone this year without being on the water! Reading your blog will sustain me until I can get there, ahhhh.
Great pictures, thanks :)
Beautiful pictures! I checked out the beach cams and everyone seems bundled up, must have been chilly today. North winds bringing in the shells.
Awesome sunset shots — thanks for sharing!!!
