How lucky can you get??? Charlie and Peggy both found JUNONIAS last week off West Gulf Drive! Sue from last week’s Virtual Sheller Alert sent me these pictures to catch us up on the latest shelling news.
They are avid shellers and found both of them scooping in the water using shelling backhoes. Congrats to you both!
FYI- Low Tide Alert! Check out the really low tides this week. Just click on TIDES chart.
We are on the way over tomorrow.
Unreal …two in one trip….you guys have had some fantastic shelling this last week or so. Is it always this good in January?
Wow! Beautiful shells!
wow!!! hope i can find 1 when i am @ captiva!
I still only have a piece of one! Maybe next time.
Lucky you!! How nice. What a way to start off the New Year!! And they both look like really nice ones too.
Maybe the “Birthday Girl” should hang out on West Gulf all week and maybe score her Junonia.
:)
aaahhhhh, man………………I am so jealous
Always the bride’s maid, never the bride…happy for them but wishing they were your’s. Or at least one of them anyway, don’t want to be greedy!
LOL Yvette and Ava, I just hope I’m not the Susan Lucci of shelling. hahaha
Bwahhaha!
No, Noooo don’t even say that out loud! The shelling God’s may hear and then where would you be? I’ve cursed them (a mistake only made once, darn wentletraps) and look where I am—smack in the middle of a snow storm!
Hey! Leave one for me! I’ll be staying on West Gulf Drive in March! lol!
xoxo laurie
hmmmmm……wonder if there is a parking fee for anchoring out in the water and swimming to shore??!!!! I cannot wait to get my hands on some of those shells but more importantly……….my camera!! By the way, is the water cold now? What about temps? Flying into Ft. Myers on 6th…..should be around that way by 7th or 8th, depending on wind!!
I swear, I wish the elusive big jay would make up his mind which beach he wants to wash up on. I was on EAST Gulf last night not West like I usually go to. It was a beautiful full moon though.
Take good care,
Karen
OMG – this just drove my husband to distraction!! Even though we were JUST THERE at the holidays …. we are COMING BACK in APRIL!! Tee-hee tee-hee tee-hee!!! I even bought him a 9 inch Sand Flea Rake…just to encourage this shellovely obsession!! Wish I could get your Tee in 3x!
Awesome find!!! I am longing to be there. What a great week for shelling. I can’t wait to see what the super low tides bring.
OMG! 30 years of shelling Sanibel and I’ve only found a 1/2″ piece of junonia once.If I had found ONE you could have heard me yell all the way to the lighthouse! lol
