I saw something unusual halfway buried in the sand near the Sanibel lighthouse at low tide. I reached down to find a large ball of meaty slime… which turned out to be a SHARK’S EYE MOON SNAIL very much alive.
Ahem…. that would be “Pam” who found this way cool shark’s eye :)…not Super Sheller Clark this time (he found one a couple of weeks ago too…. not that we are in competition or anything- HA!). LOL this was on the east end.
Wow, how cooool is that, Pam!! I’ve never seen a Shark’s Eye live! Thank you so much for sharing. Hope to visit Sanibel Island during my vacation. I’m on Anna Maria Island now and really enjoy my stay!!
so awesome———don’t know if I could have held it in my hand like that, but leave it to Pam to do what’s necessary to keep her readers informed, thanks, Pam.
I added a link to Seaside Inn up in the post… scroll back up and click on the highlighted and bolded words. I always do that…. when I have linked to more info, I bold it and highlight it so you know I’ve added more info. Fancy, huh? ;)
Oh my gosh, I just saw one of these on Ft. Myers Beach a couple of days ago. Didn’t have any idea what it was. I was just interested in the shell. I ended up throwing it back in the gulf. I guess I should’ve took a picture of it.
Very cool Pam!! I have never seen a live shark’s eye!! Thanks so much for all you show us!!
BTW….we will be there on the next full moon!! :)
We will also be there on the next full moon!
