After scattered rain showers throughout the day yesterday, the evening was clear enough to enjoy a beautiful walk on the beach to find some live shells….
…And LOTS of empty shells!
We were collecting shells last night to add to our buckets of shells to throw from out “float” to the crowd for the Sanibel 4th of July Parade Shellebration tomorrow!
Pat from South Carolina found a really big SHARK’S EYE MOON SNAIL.
Along with catching some nice seashells, we even caught a glimpse of a rainbow finally…
Enjoy your Independence Day celebrations!
Happy 4th of July Pam! Have a wonderful time at the parade.
Always enjoy your pictures. Enjoy your July 4th. Your float will be the best one in the parade.
Aren’t Kings Crowns only found in mud flats? Did you see the one in the picture on the gulf beach?
Mike, We saw two large kings crowns on the gulf side last night on the low tide sand bar right there at Gulf Side City Park (AKA Algier’s Beach). We see more of them around the mud flats on the bay side but have occasionally seen them live on the gulf….we even saw one laying eggs on the gulf side last year- take a look – http://www.iloveshelling.com/blog/2010/05/31/sanibel-shelling-on-memorial-weekend/

Wishing you a great 4th. We are having lots of rain on the east coast – spoiling a lot of picnics but a welcome sight. God Bless you both – enjoy the ride in the “shellin buggy”.
Happy 4th of July, Pam!! Have fun at the Parade!!!
