This little angel with the rainbow is one of my mom’s favorite photos I took last summer so I wanted to show it again since she isn’t feeling well right now. I left Sanibel after the July 4th parade to stay with her in Virginia Beach so needless to say, I don’t have any updates on the shelling. Oh but wait! Clark just called to tell me our Junonia Jalopy won runner up for the parade’s “Junonia” category which is Most Original/Best Overall. Woot! Woot! What an honor!
A few days before I left, the COQUINAS were covering the beach again which reminded me of this video I took last summer June 25. So let me leave you with this for a few days until she’s back on her feet and I’m back on the island again.
PS- I miss seeing squirrels! We don’t have squirrels on Sanibel so I am enjoying seeing so many in Mom’s backyard. They are so cute! …… except when they eat all the bird seed- ha.
Pam, I hope your mom gets better soon.
u and mother r in our prayers:-)
Pam, praying for your mom & safe traveling for you!
Hope your Mom feels better soon!
Congrats on runner up for your Junonia Jalopy!
I missed squirrels too when I lived on Sanibel. But the birdseed goes a lot longer without them. I’d trade moving back to the island for them any day. There is too much snow here in Maryland

We gotta take care of our mommas! Tell Super Sheller Clark to get on that guest post!
I was on the beach tonight and the conditions look great for shelling for the next couple of days. The storms have been coming off the gulf and the waves are big which means the shells are in motion. I’ll be taking anothe look at low tide Friday and report back in.
Super Sheller Clark, (guest blogger). by the way mom’s doing better.
Blessings to your mom, I am going through similar situation with my dad and my grandmother. I agree with mom, the rainbow pic is my favorite too. Curious, did that little girls mother see that pic? I would want it blown up and framed if it was my kid!
Hugs to you and mom. That’s one of my favorite pictures too!
Pam – I hope your presence will lift your Mom’s spirits and help her to get well. Sending positive thoughts your way!
Our thoughts and prayers are with you both.
Hope your mom is better soon and even though she is not feeling well I hope you get some good mom and daughter time in to cherish.
Many prayers for your mother. And you are missing a GREAT day of shelling.
Hope your Mom feels better soon!
Speedy recovery! Congrats to your Coquina win. We have plenty of squirrel here, but I’d rather have the beach!

I decided to read all the other comments before leaving mine (first time commenter here) and I was so touched to see how many people were wishing your Mother and you well! You don’t realize how many of us you touch with your wonderful blog who many never take the time to comment and let you know just that. Best wishes to your Mom for a speedy recovery and safe traveling to you as well!
…was thinking of you while on the beach the other day and collected so many kittens paws…must have been hundreds of them!!
PS….glad to hear your Mom is doing a little better
Sending rainbows & prayers from N. FL to your mother and you.
Clark, thanx for the update on the shelling conditions.
Hugs to all,

Oh you guys, my mom and I read all of your sweet and thoughtful comments tonight and I cant thank you enough … especially for my mom. She couldn’t believe so many touching comments for her! It really lifted her spirits so much. Really, thank you so much!! She is feeling much better but still has a ways to go. It might take a while, but she’s gonna be just fine. Julie- we’re sending you well wishes too for your dad and grandmother along with a lot of you that are dealing with similar issues- sending big hugs. xoxo
Love and prayers to you and “mom” – you can never tell her enough how much you love her. Daughters can be the best medicine!! When my mother was not well I took her to Sanibel (she is an original shell collectior) and to this day (25 years later) she now resides there year round!!
So glad to hear your mom is doing better! I know how it is also, we (hubby and I) are dealing with similar things with my mom and dad and his mom. Welcome back here to the tidewater area…..sure is different from Sanibel huh!? I hope your mom will be back to top notch really soon! Enjoy your time here!
that first picture is magical! Hope your mom is all better soon.
Hope your mom will feel fine as frog hair real soon!!
That means really ,really fine and dandy!!
I must have been reading your blog for over a year now – boy does time fly! I loved this pic when you posted it last year and I have often pulled it up on your site to show friends and family. It is postcard perfect!
