The early morning low tides have exposed some beach combing beauties the last few days…. finally!
This was the new sand bar at Blind Pass Captiva yesterday morning. The shell wrack had some nice pickins like this BANDED TULIP…
APPLE MUREX…
This gorgeous lemon yellow SCALLOP…
You can see for yourself, Cyber Shellers! This was a random shot of the wrack line. Click ‘N Shell….
Believe it or not, I was at the lighthouse beach this morning at dawn.
Unfortunately, there were too many clouds to even get a peek at the sun rising on the horizon….BUT I didn’t mind a bit after I found the ALPHABET CONE!
I found so many live STARFISH…
Mixed in with lots of BEACH BLING….
I met cutie pie Luis from Columbia (and NOT I’m talking South Carolina!) who held his very first live mollusk.
So cool, Luis!
I can’t wait for tomorrow! Negative low tides in the mornings should be more fun shelling!
I love that sand bar. Remember the day last year when it showed up under the bridge? Never underestimate the power of a sand bar & a shell shovel. xo
Nice! I found a yellow lemon scallop during my last trip there, too! We’ll be there next month – anxious for some more shelling!
Yeah!!! It’s about time they started rolling in!!! Woo Hoo!!!
Wow! I have got to get down there again! I’ll be singing a new tune for a while, and maybe hubby will get the hint ;)
“All I want for Christmas is to shell Sanibel, shell Sanibel, shell Sanibel….gee if only I could shell Sanibel then I would have a Merry Christmas!”
Thank you for the shelling hit.
The little lemon yellow scallop is my favorite… what a little cutie! And this lighthouse picture… Sanibel Island I MISS you!!!!!!!
Just received my I love Shelling calendar-omg, it’s awesome!!! Pam, you are a Godsend to all of us who love Sanibel so much but can’t be there. You always capture the essence of everything lovely and enchanting about the island in your photos and words. Thank you SO much!
JoJo! Thank YOU so much! Yours and the other comments are exactly what keeps me going. xo

The Jersey shore doesn’t have all the different types of shells. I’m sooooo jealous that someone could have them in their own back yard. Beautiful!!!
I heart yellow scallops. Actually, I heart all scallops! Great find, Pam!
I like the name – lemon scallop! LOVE the last photo of the boat.
Love the pictures – that one of the starfish is really cute, looks like they were holding “hands”. Did you find them that way?
Your cyber shelling photos had me groaning out loud to be there in person and finding my own shells. Here in Indiana, it is starting to get cold and your blog helps me get through these cold, icy, snowy months.
We have snow on the ground here in Michigan, so those beach pictures warm us up :-)
I’m making my reservation and checking it tiwce – we’ll be there late April. Started looking in November – and boy are we having a hard time trying to find a resort, hotel, condo, on the beach – your area really fills fast. We may have to stay in Fort Myers and drive each day to see you . Someone also suggested Venice?? any thoughts. Janet in AZ
Venice?? NO!!!
Have you looked at The Island Inn? It’s a great little place with several different types of accommodations – right on the beach in Sanibel. Great shelling on the beach when we stayed there! Definitely check out their website!
thank you to those that responded to my quest. We are now booked at the Sundial Beach Resort- Hope to see you all in April-arriving on 4/21.
Can’t wait to start shelling.

Pam – Your picture of the lighthouse at dawn with the actual light reflected in the water is SO stinkin’ awesome it made me gasp out loud – you rock!!! Keep it coming – no pressure (lol)! Thank you for keeping us northerners salivating!
– Debbie
The last picture is so calming!!! Awesome picture! As well as the lighthouse lit up! Love it!!!
