Merry Christmas, SS Marcia! In my last post, Marcia asked me if I had seen beach art yet. I had to laugh when the first thing I saw when I walked on the beach was this Christmas tree made with PEN SHELLS. Then right beside it was this beautiful menorah! This is the first that I’ve seen this season so thank you to the beach art artist who made these!
There was so much Beach Bling in between Donax Rd and Fulgur Rd on Sanibel.
This was one of several TULIP EGG CASES I saw…
I didn’t even see the second KEYHOLE LIMPET on the left when I took this photo. I was so amazed at the dark stripes on the big LIMPET and the colors on the tiny APPLE MUREX and BANDED TULIP.
In one little area, the high tide was bringing in shells to build up this nice pile. See that gorgeous LIGHTNING WHELK?
Maybe the golden rays of this Sanibel sunset shining on the amber edges of the ROUGH PENS will inspire the richly talented artists who create their beach art masterpieces for we mere beachcombers to fill our hearts with joy for the holidays. Ahem…. did I ask that nicely enough for more fun holiday beach art stuff? ;)
Love the Christmas tree! I already miss the beach and being at Sanibel! Look at that shell pile ;)
AAAKKKK! Go back to the beach immediately and pick up that beautiful striped limpet and send it to me for Christmas! Oh please, oh please, oh pretty please?? Oh how I wish I was your next door neighbor and BFF!! Merry Christmas Pam and Clark!
Oh what a mixed blessing this blog is. On the one hand I can hardly wait to see what you are posting next….it is my “fix” when I cannot be there. On the other hand, it just makes me long to be on Sanibel right this minute. Either way thanks so much for the pictures and the words and the sharing!! Hope you and Clark have a Merry Christmas and that the New Year brings us all more Sanibel!!
Great beach art!
Sanibel is everything it is supposed to be, and more! I loved my visit to paradise. Incredibly sunsets and sunrises. Bountiful shelling. Really nice people. Wondeful wildlife. I very much hope I can be back the same time next year.
Happy Holidays to everyone!
How clever, love that Christmas tree!!
All I want for Christmas is my True Tulip Shell!!
What a wonderful Christmas gift you have given us – – And may your New Year bring you joy and peace.
I’m jealous of the pen shells, I have to hunt long and hard at low tides to even see them and your beach is covered
PS My husband asks me how I’m going to get all my shells home to Arizona when we come in April – – UPS UPS UPs. no problem…
Janeet in AZ
Last year when we flew home via Fort Myers airport– my husband and various relatives were sure I would not be allowed to board the plane with my bag of shells as a carry-on. Curbside checkin didn’t see it as a problem. They laughed and said this was Florida not Ohare or LaGuardia. Airport security never batted on eye. My bag was regulation size, vinyl reuseable shopping bag and I packed my shells in ziplock sandwich bags, heavy shells on the bottom, fragile on top. All made it home safely. And I was very happy.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you and Clark. You’re like a Christmas tree, you’ve brought a little sparkle to all of us that follow your blog. Merry Christmas everyone.
Hey, Pam. How cool is that?? Fresh beach art this morning for all of us to enjoy thru your photos. So glad I thought to ask. And I, too, hope for more beach art. Merry Christmas to you and Clark and all our shelling sistas and brothers. — SS Marcia
the beach art is awesome!!!
I can’t wait to return to sanibel. Next time we come my husband wants to go to Marco Island too. We need to use up some Hilton honor points. Has anyone been there? Do you know what it’s like? Thanks
OMG I love the pen shell beach art!
As always, thanks for the eye candy! <3
Just beautiful! Can’t wait to come back, we missed our fall visit!
