High winds are blowing from the west. We have a full moon tonight. The tides are extremely high and low. The Gulf Of Mexico waters are churning.
Bits and pieces of BEACH BLING were rolling up on Captiva yesterday.
The high tide was bringing in all sorts of flotsam and jetsam on the gulf side of the Sanibel Lighthouse Beach.
The Sanibel pier beach was foaming from the churned surf like a rabid dog.
I’m thinking the Easter Bunny is getting ready to scatter those seashells on our beaches for a great Easter Shell Hunt!
….but I feel like that rabid dog foaming at the mouth waiting for those shells to roll in!
Have a Happy Easter weekend! I hope the Easter Bunny is good to you too!

Everyone have a great weekend!
Ohhhh….. I wish I were on my way from Texas!!!!
We were all out at Blind Pass Thursday afternoon, those waves were pounding and the shells kept coming. Between stooping and scooping with our nets and shell scoopers we almost couldn’t leave.
When we got back to our place on Gulf Beach not far from the light house, Amy and Max our 8 yr old went out and started digging just beneath the surface and with every scoop more shells came. the shells were plentiful so much so their rejects people walking by asked if they were keeping them and were delighted to have them.
We’re here – I noticed there were a few more shells on the beach early this morning, as compared to the last few days. Hoping for ‘ eggshellent ‘ hunting the next few days!
Heading out for low tide now. I can see a lot of folks out there already. It’s been slim pickings for me, hoping the tides have changed…. Literally! Went out with Cap’n Brian on Wed, and there was plenty of nuttin, but that was the first day of winds. Had a great time anyway.
Good luck to all and hoppy holiday!
Lots of pen shells washing up! Great shelling at tonights negative low tide – we found a 6 inch horse conch and an alphabet cone!
Save some for me! We arrive Sunday afternoon! Hope to see you and Clark on the beach!
I will be there Monday hope there will be shelling then!
Happy Easter Pam & Clark!
Just left Clearwater Beach yesterday, and I managed to get in some quick shelling Saturday morning before we left. Little did I know the conditions were perfect! But I did notice that the shells were the most intact that I’d seen all week, and I found shells I hadn’t seen all week. All that wind on Friday turned out to be worth it! Happy Shelling! Can’t wait to return!!
