iLoveShelling was featured on Swedish National Television!
I was very fortunate to have spent a few hours back in March on the beach with SVT reporter Sara and videographer Ava (both from Sweden) to show them why our beaches are so special…. of course my answer would be….shelling! I had so much fun with them!
They also filmed other great ways to enjoy our islands like fishing, biking, wildlife and the great restaurants to paint the gorgeous picture of why we all love it here so much. This excellent film will run this month on Sveriges Television (SVT) which is the Swedish public service television company with the widest range of programming of all TV companies in Sweden.
I thought you’d like to see it too! So here is this piece on our sweet Sanibel made for the popular SVT lifestyle show called “Good Evening”… or in Swedish “Go’kväll“.
That was awesome! Great to see a Sanibel sunset!
Lol! I love it Pam! I loved that in the middle of all that Swedish, I heard “Pam Rambo” and “Sylvester Stallone” in the same sentence~so cute! You are now truely an International Shelling Queen! Congrats and may you enjoy many more such memorable moments! Love Ya!!
LOL Carla, I laughed at that too when I heard Sylvester Stallone! hahaha I think they did a really nice job of showing so much of the islands. How about those dolphin! That isn’t every day you see them throwing fish up in the air like that.
Thank y’all so much for your comments!
Congratulations Pam. I also heard “expert”. :I wish I knew Swedish. It looks like a wonderful tribute to Sanibel and now you can add International Star to your resume. :) Can you tell me the name of the restaurant where she took her fish to be cooked for her? I thought I new all the restaurants but that one didn’t look familiar to me. I am so happy for you. Congratulations again.
The restaurant that cooked Sara’s redfish was Timbers. Isn’t that fantastic they will cook your catch?
That is so cool! Who knew? Makes me want to go fishing next time I come to Sanibel…who was her guide, do you know? And Pam, I too got a kick out of Pam Rambo and Sylvester Stallone in the same sentence. Great piece. Now you are international! You’re a natural.
Christine, The fishing guide was Captain John Houston and I believe he is out of Tween Waters. I had a friend just tell me she and her sisters just went out with him and they caught sea trout, flounder and redfish. She said it was a blast!
I really like that. I think we will have to add fishing to our trip in Feb. and have them prepare it. What fun!!! Thanks Pam.
Wow Pam…how cool is that!! Pam Rambo international star! You are such a good spokes women for Sanibel and Captiva! I wish I understand Swedish.
Congrats on yet another publication.
Congratulations Pam!! That was so much fun to watch!
What a great video, but I don’t want anyone to know about our little island. . . lol. Will be there December 7, hope to see you on the beach. Good job.
What a nice video. Pam, you look adorable, as usual!
Hey, really nice Pam!
I just sent the link to my friend and neighbor here in NYC who is Swedish. She has a place in Eastern Florida, but has never been to Sanibel. Her cousin is staying with her right now; I expect they will both enjoy the video.
Congratulations! That is so awesome. Do they have shells in Sweden? Good shelling lately?
Sure, there are shells in the Baltic Sea off Sweden, but most of them are fairly drab in color, and there are not too many different species, not like Sanibel!
Here are a couple of images from the German coast of the Baltic Sea, just to give you some idea:

That was so cool! Loved it, made me smile plus it was very relaxing to watch!
Excellent, excellent, excellent!!! What a wonderful show about Sanibel and Captiva — they did a great job and so did you!
I agree with everything you said, Marcia! And I enjoyed seeing the other aspects and sights of the area. My dream is to visit soon!
Congratulations!! Will we able to see the final video?
Huh? This IS the final video. Lol
Sorry lol. Can’t view it from my iPad for some reason. Will view it on my pc. Very happy for you Pam. You are world famous now :-)
Great video! The amazing thing is that even though I don’t understand a word of Swedish I still understood exactly what they were saying. They said the same things we all do when being amazed by Sanibel and Captiva! MEM
I thought the very same thing, amazing how some things just translate in any language..it’s like love. Oh I quess it is love…of SANIBLE AND SHELLING.
i wonder if the hurricane will expose some treasures?
So cool!! You are a GREAT ambassador for Sanibel & Captiva, Pam! :)
i was lol over the Sylvester Stallone comment and Matt getting his 15 seconds of fame.
Northwest winds on Island Inn kam – fingers crossed the shell booty comes rolling in next week. :)
Pam, I was a afew days late looking at your post for October 21st my birthday.. I just simply loved the video on the Bald Eagles, I thought of it as a present from you to me. I have ALWAYS wanted to see a live Eagle and hope to see one when we return to Sanibel in June 2013. You are really becoming famous…how nice that other countries can share in all the knowledge and wit you have to share . P.S. Thank you Pam for my video present.
Happy Birthday Loree! I knew there was another reason I was meant to look back at that day and show those eagles!
Hi Pam and Happy Birthday Loree,
I too enjoyed the eagle show; every year on our Sanibel trip, we travel the wildlife refuge trails to watch for eagles. I am fortunate to live above the Missouri River bluffs where we have eagles soaring from their tree roosts, swooping over the river for lunch, and playing “catch me” with fellow eagles! Unfortunately, we have neighbors who prefer a scenic view sans trees to preserving the trees for the wildlife. So, it’s rewarding to visit Sanibel where our eagles and all of wildlife are so protected and appreciated. Thank you Pam for showcasing this bountiful slice of our country.
How funny! My Dad grew up in Sweden and speaks it fluently, so I had him translate the whole thing for me!! LOL
