Happy Independence Day! Hope you are enjoying your 4th of July as much as little stars and striped cutie pie Jaylen visiting Sanibel from Missouri.
I know lots of other people who are happy after finding seashell treasures like these under the bridge at Blind Pass on Sanibel.
Like Barbara from Merrit Island, Florida…
Who wouldnt be happy finding a FLORIDA CONE, WORMIES, MUREXES and LIGHTNING WHELKS?
That’s why Brenda and Missi from Ohio were so tickled…
This awesome bag of shells were found by newbie shellers Julius and Liana…
This Dad and daughter shelling “team” were visiting from Ohio as well…
Oh and another cutie petutie shell baby! This is Sarah… from Ohio too! I should have gotten all of these Ohio peeps together!
Look at this Patriogator! Nancy and Mark from Ohio (I know, right? Ohio!) and Frank and Linda from Cape Coral made this exshellent beach art using PEN SHELLS…
Have a wonderful 4th and be safe!
PS- We are still cleaning up our shells from Guantanamo Bay but when we are done I cant wait to show you more photos from our tremendous trip and more Caribbean seashells and BLING we found.
If you’ve ever been to Ohio, you will understand why all those people are THERE instead of HERE! Wish I were too!
We didn’t see you and Clark in the parade. We were looking for the junonia mobile. =( Did you just slip by us because we were all looking.
mary, we couldnt get our act together quick enough from coming back from vaca to get the junonia jalopy up, running and decorated for the parade. We missed it! There’s always next year. So sorry we missed it! The parade is always adorable isnt it?
I was at Blindpass on the Captiva side for about three hours today. Sorry I missed seeing you!! Found my first three EVER banded tulips. Was so excited about each one and found all three within a ten minute time span toward the end of my time there. Found a huge apple murex too. All together a really good day for me although the Sanibel Stoop is killing my back. Will be at Daytona Beach over the weekend. Hoping they have some good shells. It’ll be my first time there so no idea what to expect. Fingers crossed!! Have a blessed and safe Fourth of July!!
Jaylen and Sarah are too cute!
Happy Independence Day, everyone!
Pam, thanks for sharing such great photos.
Happy 4th!
Will Jaylen be your July picture on next years calendar? She’s so cute!
Happy 4th.
Pat
Pat! I told Clark I would love to put her in next years calendar for July! Lol we think so much alike!
Just precious! Pam, do you sell any of the photos you take? Love the sandollar one you posted a while ago, will be in sanibel from 6-15th, a few others I would love to purchase also :)
You are so sweet! I would love to start selling copies of some of my photos but not sure how to go about doing it. I looked into some of the online photographers sites but it so complicated and time consuming to set up. Somebody else asked me about my photos on canvas and i looked into it but it was hard to talk to a live person to answer my questions. Any suggestions?
Pam
We just made a couple of photos on canvas through CVS pharmacy. You can walk in the store and do it or go online. It is very easy all you need is your SD card or your camera.
It could also be a way for you to make several copies of pics for people of they wish to purchase. It’s all about your time and how much your worth..LOL…
Lol! We will figure out a way! Have you tried cafe press? Really love the idea of a canvas :)
Lisa! I love u and everybody else with ideas too that are helping me figure this out!!!! I use cafe press for the tee shirts, mugs and those type things (the button on the left that says iLoveShelling Shop) and it is fantastic because they have awesome products AND great customer service if there is a problem with the item. They have canvas products but not for “shops” ….. Hmmmmmm I’m gonna look into that. You’ve inspired me!!!
A local photographer uses a computer program to create paintings of landscapes from his photos…. gorgeous canvas painting wraps and notecards of the SONORAN DESERT…sell like hotcakes at our art festivals.. Pam, your seascapes would be sensationl in this medium !! I’ll find out the name of the software and forward pix of this unique art form when Tucson’s fall art festivals begin.
You have a gift in capturing “beach joy” through your camera lens,
and give so much pleasure online, imagine how cool to let all us land~locked beach babies purchase your photos for our homes?
That would be a daily dose of what I call GULF COAST THERAPY :)
Take care.
Thanks for posting the pic of Sarah, our youngest grandchild. We’re here with our kids and all of our grandkids enjoying the beaches and Fourth of July celebration. Even though the storms have rolled in and made the beach time a little short, the shelling has been great!
I love your website!
Luv the picture of the flag and shell! Has most of my fav things—- the beach, the gulf, a shell and our beautiful American flag! I would buy it for sure. Thanks for posting, hope you had a great 4th!
Omigosh .. those pictures of the toddlers are SO darling!!! And that pen shell alligator with the flag really tickled me. :-) Pam, your e-mails are always a day-brightener!
I just want to recommend Zazzle.com for creating customized products. I made some Keds slip-on shoes with pix of my grandson on them .. they turned out really cute and they always got a lot of attention and positive comments when I wore them. The website is very user friendly. You can design items for yourself and/or sell your creations on their website … from stickers to skateboards and everything in between! Do check it out. :-)
Are there better times of year to take a trip to Sanibel, Captiva or is ‘better’ shelling more dependent on the winds, nature? Ok, perhaps a combination of all three: time of year, winds, nature. I got the good on the tides :)
Thanks for any suggestions~
There are almost always shells on our beaches… but the best shelling depends on the winds and what Mother Nature decides to give us at any given time.
