Being away from Sanibel for even just a few days makes me appreciate every single grain of sand, every petal of each flower, every splash of water lapping up on all of our shell filled beaches. My home sweet home to handfuls of shells…
I couldn’t wait to get my feet on the beach to enjoy my favorite place of peace. While on the Sanibel side of Blind Pass this morning, I met Bonnie from Maryland who showed me her FLORIDA CONE and the rest of her awesome shells she collected (above photo). Then I met Carol from Texas with her shirt filled with treasures…
She said she was extremely happy to be in Sanibel where there are shells to be found. Me too, Carol!
I always love being with my family in Virginia Beach… but there’s no place like Sanibel.
There’s no place like home in paradise.
Oh but wait… there’s more. I went over to the Captiva side of Blind Pass too to find beautifully clear water and an “OLIVE garden”! I took a little video of some of the LETTERED OLIVES I found and just how peaceful the beach was… even when the helicopter flew by. Our mosquitos are controlled with spraying from a helicopter… so that’s always a happy site to see. Enjoy the peace, beach, water and shells!
Welcome home, Pam! It’s been a minute since I’ve been on Sanibel myself and I’m having withdrawals. LOL!! That said, I’ve been shelling at South Beach on Marco Island the past few weeks and have found some pretty cool things. Found my first two Alphies this weekend. They’re small but I’m thrilled with the find. I’ll post pics of them on Instagram and FB tonight. Anyway, hope to see you on the beach sometime soon. And again, welcome home!! ;-)
Love this video because of the sound of the waves….thanks so much!
Me too! And the clear water is killing me! Oh how I love to snorkel for shells there!! Wish I was still there instead of back at work! Thanks for the waves! Sherri from MN
Olivia and I enjoyed your video! She said, “That’s nice, but my favorite is Lighthouse Beach” :)
Oh I so enjoyed the waves splashing the shore&love the clear water!Beautiful! Thanks,Pam&Welcome Home!
Glad to see the water has cleared up. Looks beautiful again!
You are so lucky to live on Sanibel. I have to let the web cams (Island Inn is down. boo hoo) and your videos hold me over until I can hopefully get back in January. I can’t imagine being so fortunate to live there!
Just to “clear” things up- Unfortunately the Sanibel side of Blind Pass wasn’t as clear as the Captiva side. We are still having loads of rain so it is still murky in areas :(
Nice video. Looks like you almost had an empty piece of beach aka heaven. Enjoyed the clip…..Thanks
Pam you live in paradise, and thanks for sharing it with all of us when we are not there! :)
Great video Pam !….and welcome back.
The real “Olive Garden!”
Thanks for the cyber-shelling. My day was alright, but I really enjoyed your day.
I am on my way to Virginia Beach today!
Ha! Have fun!
Welcome back Pam. Thanks for sharing a slice of paradise with us. The video was so wonderful. I could close my eyes and feel the wind in my hair and the sand between my toes.
So wonderful to have you back Pam…loved your video!!
Enjoyed our week at blind/pass. Three horse conchs (small and beautiful) (also the state shell !!! ). Gulf water slightly tea’ish on Sanibel side periodically; however, Captiva side Gulf water beautiful !!! Settled in with shells, naps, walks, restaurants and good reading with our two new books from Randy Wayne White !
Paradise. Returning Thanksgiving !!!!!
