“ILOVESHELLING is the best online find ever!” True dat. I have never heard it said better.
True dat? Are you a Saints fan?
So creative and delightful! Thanks for taking the time to do this! Merry Christmas to you!
Oh Pam, you are so clever. As I was singing along (in my head since I an at work), I could picture you chuckling to yourself as you put this together. This was a much needed smile today.
Merry Christmas to you, Clark and all of your families. Here’s to your health, happiness and many shell-filled days in 2014.
hey, for Hannukah next year you can do the 8 plates of a chiton for the 8 days of Hannukah
you are right… I missed Hannukah! That was such a busy time for me, I even had a little something to put up but it was gone before I knew it. Next year, Steve, I hope I remember! (remind me if you think about it?)
When I was in Sanibel in April, there was a tree of some sorts on the dune bordering the beach. People had stuck shells with holes in them on the branches. The branches had full leaves on them, so the shells had been on the branches a while. I like to think it was someone spending Christmas on Sanibel, and they found a tree to decorate :)
Loved it Pam. A Happy Shelladay to you also. Bill’s sister, Irene, and her daughter Linda are staying near Gulfside City Park. They will be there a month, lucky shellers.
Look for them.
Merry Christmas
What talent! Thanks, Pam, for your posts that bring a smile to my face everyday. Merry Christmas to you and Clark! :-)
Merry Shelling Christmas to you and Clark!! I feel bad for the people up north and their extreme cold weather but it has been a pleasure to experience some lower temps here in south Florida. Keep up your great job!! It is appreciated by so many. Hope to run into you on the beach next year….:) :)
This is hilarious. God bless you this Christmas!
So enjoyable to read this! A fresh take on an old classic…..something for the sheller in all of us! Thank you & Happy Holidays to you!
What fun! I had a great laugh ( and a little bit of envy, too!) Merry Christmas and shell-hats off to a great 2014!
Always a highlight of my day opening up this page! Thank you for sharing with us! Merry Christmas!

OMG Pam… you are too funny! love your lyrics!!! hope you and Clark have a great xmas and lots of sunny low tides to hunt in. :)
hohohoho Yes, I was giggling the whole time I was making this! I found a couple of buttercups …. then found 3 more. I looked in my bucket when I put the next 3 in and thought “I can’t resist picking them up when they are that golden”… and then counted how many I had… “Five!” Ha …. “Five goooooldeennn buttercuuuuups!” Then I was on a roll… hohoho
Happy Shelladays to you and Clark. What a clever “shell Days of Christmas”.
Yes. I was singing along with you. Thanks for the cheer.
I didn’t think to put it in words, but when I read it above, I knew it was true for me too…
Finding your blog and all these other people who love shelling, is the best thing I’ve found on the internet. Thank you, Pam, so very much.
Love, love, this! So clever and joyful. Look for me dancing along the beach singing this the week after Christmas. Can’t wait!! We signed up for your Cayo trip on Jan 3 to start the new year out right and to hopefully meet you!
Happy Holidays to all…
Love, love, love your posts Pam! As we sit here freezing with windchill warnings and loads of snow, your posts are my happy place to go to. Hubby & I were just talking about how we are looking forward to our three week stay next year in Sanibel. Sanibel thoughts, (my ‘happy thoughts’), will keep me going through our long cold winter.
Boy did you make my day. I sang each verse and studied them close. What a gift you have for making us so joyful. I’ll try to come close with shells from Rocky Point, Mexico. Until then
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A WONDERFUL NEW YEAR.
Janet in AZ
Loved the display of shells and enjoyed singing along with you. My mom is in the hospital so I will bring my laptop and share this with her. I know it will lift her spirits. Merry Christmas to you and Clark. Thank you for the fabulous 2013 posts and look forward to next year’s cybershelling and wonderful finds on the beaches. You are a shellibrity for sure!
Diane, Have fun singing with your mom! Hope she gets well soon so she can be back home surrounded by the things she loves.
Thank you. She loved it!
Joyeux Noel, Felice Navidad and a belated Hanukka from Tom and Sharene in Canada. May we all have a wonderful time.
I just loved this post, Pam! Believe it or not …I sang the whole thing! You know how to lift our spirits and make us all smile. Thank you or all the time you put into I Love Shelling.com. It means so much to so many! I’m giving a little bit of Sanibel to all my family and friends this Christmas….I made them all your olive bracelets! They are so adorable! Again, THANK YOU!!! and Merry Christmas!
Deborah, I looooove that u made them the olive bracelets! I hope they like them
I was literally just coming here to look up shells that I found last week. I didn’t know what they were and now I do! Buttercups!!! I found so many of them, I adore them! And I ADORE you!
Pam,
Your site means alot to so many of us crazy shellers. So many thanks for all you do.I am going to visit your shelling paradise for several days over the coming holiday season. So I need a little help or hints as to where to park since it sounds like the parking lots will be closed that let you access the shelling area..
Hope to see you on the beach and Happy Holidays.
Dee
What fun! That was shell-tastic!
Merry Christmas!!
Pam, I just looked at the wonderfully uplifting remake of the 12 days of Christmas, and smiled, sang along several times and then found myelf trying to figure out how to pronounce the shell name golllidennnnn buttercups. I thougt it was “golly de none” buttercups. It took me several tries until I figured out it was “golden”… dah I sat and laughed at myself for being so out ot it for several minutes. This has been a hard week for us, Roy’ s young nephew died in a terrible ice related car accident this week and the funeral is today. As devasting as this is you still made me smile for a moment. Thank you, you have such a way to make people feel good with your wit, and talents in any situation. Have a WONDERFUL holiday and thank you for just being you..L-O-R-E-E
Oh LOREE, Clark and I are so sorry to hear about Roy’s nephew. Such a terrible accident. We will both be thinking of you and your family, sweetie. Give Roy our best too. Xo
Visiting from SouthEast Alaska for a few days.
Loving the sunshine – not finding many shells.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Patty
Hi Patty. First suggestion: hit the low-tides — go out as much as two hours before the low tide time each day (for tide info see the button at the top of this page). Right now the low tides are in the mornings.
Secondly, slow down your search, and look carefully. Don’t expect to find a lot of large fancy shells, but if you look carefully there are all kinds of cool things there nonetheless.
Try the different parts of the beach — not just the lowest area by the water’s edge, but the higher drift lines too. Look for patches of shells or small piles of shells to search.
It’s also possible to try various different beaches, but whichever beach you are closest to is probably the easiest to put a lot of effort into.
Hi Patty, we were at the Sanibel side of Blind Pass the past few mornings, including today, as the low tide was going out and back in. Not a ton of shells but people were finding tulips, olives, conchs, murex, scallops, turbans, whelks, small horse conchs, etc. I hope you have luck, you’ve travelled a long way!
Patty, sue and Susan have given some great tips! I’ve heard there have been so w good finds early morning at gulfside city park. I’ve been so busy with the holidays I haven’t been shelling as often as I normally do so this week but I did see lots of live shells at gscp and a few keepers too. Good luck!!
Love it. And Merry Christmas from Amy, Mark and Kali from Pittsburgh!
merry Christmas to pam and clark and all of the shell-maniacs see you soon r.g.stein
Love it! Merry Christmas to you and yours from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada!
Oh, so fun! Merry Christmas to you and Clark!
Love the 12 Shells of Sanibel!! Merry Christmas Pam and Clark!
