Happiness continued… We were surrounded by MANATEES!
We took our kayak and SUP board (stand up paddle board) out in the roosevelt channel on Captiva Island for an awesome water adventure and boy did we find one.
As we paddled around the channel, several MANATEES came over to check us out. They were just a curious about us and we were of them! Wanna see? Hop on board with us and enjoy the view without getting wet by clicking on the video…
PS- There are plenty of places to rent SUP boards and kayaks on Captiva. For info at South Seas Island Resort CLICK HERE

Oooo I love manatees! What big sweeties they are!
And a really nice video you made Pam. :)
Nice video. When we were in Florida last year we went to see some relatives in Tampa. They took us to see some manatees, but all we saw were a few noses! Hope the good shelling continues. Pat

woohoo! great video, Pam. such a joyful experience.
Awesome!
Your video once again showed the joy of finding those amazing shells/urchins and an added bonus of sea life. The smiles on all of your faces says it all! Parker said it well–memories that will be cherished forever.
My Lumix arrived yesterday. I hope to get some of those memories for my husband and me when we arrive in a couple of weeks.
My Lumix arrive a few days ago. Unfortunately while it takes great photos it has no eyehole. You have to hold it out to compose the shot and I am unable to keep it steady enough to use it at 20x zoom. It will have to go back. I take bird pictures so am always using it zoomed. I should have read the description closer.
I can’t stop smiling. What a wonderful experience to share.
We were at light house beach about two weeks ago. There was a manatee on the gulf side with a tracking beacon attached to its tail. Many people thought it had something cought on it. It was close to the beach and close inspection showed it had a protected cord around its tail with a red buoy on it. Very interesting. I found a web site that described the tracking devises and informed anyone seeing this to call as to what color the buoy is so they can aid in tracking the manatee. They indicates there had been a large die off of manatees this year. Sad. Just wanted to pass this interesting info !!!! Thanks so much for such a great web site. Sorry we did not see you this time on the beach!!
