Its the first day of summer!
I’ve been having a ball this week shellebrating summer with my girlfriends Laura (Orlando) and Julia from Chicago who are visiting the islands for another reason to shellebrate… It’s Julia’s birthday!
Of course we went to the beach to collect shells…
We weren’t picky about only collecting whole shells because we were inspired to pick up colorful, broken or smaller shells so we could make a Shell Sphere. Isn’t this so sweet? After making one of these styrofoam balls encrusted with hot-glued Sanibel shells collected from this vacation, it will be a memory for a lifetime.
We’ve had a glorious time on the beach catching up on our lives and taking in special moments that make our islands enchanting.
What a gret picture with the pelicans – —
Lovely! Glad y’all are enjoying the beautiful day. Wish I was there; Sanibel is on my list.
Life is a beach!
Pam, thank you for the birthday wishes and day of shelling together! It was so great to see you and hunt for whatever caught our eyes. I had forgotten how beautiful the gulf coast is on the Sanibel and Captiva beaches which means it’s been too long since I’ve been there. But this trip proved to be extra special and now I know that Summer in Sanibel is lovely:) Happy Summer and Happy Shelling to you!!!
Love your shell sphere. Looks like everyone had fun. Happy shelling. Pat
There is nothing more special than spending time with friends doing something you love. Happy Birthday Julia!
Hi Pam Thanks so much for your website, sure have learned a lot. What kind of mailbox works best when making a seashell mailbox ? Plastic, metal or other?
Thank you and God Bless
