The teeny tiny SAND DIMES are back at Gulfside City Park!
Yahoo! There’s gold in them that SEAWEED hills. I found these sweet little white SAND DOLLARS high on the dry beach mixed in with the wrack line dry SEA WEEDS…. so far from the water. Dollar days are back.
I just followed the wrack line to find the money trail.
I walked down to the water’s edge to find hundreds of live SAND DOLLARS washed up in the low tide.
As the tide turned and the water started covering them up, all of the live ones all along the tidal line dug themselves back into the sand where they will hopefully grow into adult SAND DOLLARS.
Mother Nature had other plans for this fist full of dollars. She was giving out SAND DIMES by the dozen in the high dry wrack.
I love these little cuties!!! kj :)
Love all the cute little sand dollars(dimes). Is there any reason that a lot of them have been washing ashore? Pat
Have only been to Sanibel once when these little cuties were plentiful. Love them!
WICKED AWESOME PAM !!! Wish I was there ! Thanks for teasing and sharing ! Pam on Cape Cod
Love, Love, Love those babies!!!
I have not seen these on Sanibel! Things like this keep me going back to Sanibel to see what the sea is going to show me! It never fails!
So so cute, I love your pics Pam. I have seen them alive but have never found dry ones. I think the third picture down would make a nice Shellograph, and it would look really great hanging next to a Shellograph of the pic you took of the wentletraps on the railing at the Pier last fall, hint, hint, hint…
They were all over Fort Myers Beach as well but only live ones. Couldn’t find any white ones. Love your posts !
Sooo cute! I can always count on iLS when I’m missing the beach. :)
Wow! Another great surprise on the beach. I have never encountered sand dollars on Sanibel. Counting down the days to my arrival. I signed up for both shelling cruises!
Yay!!!! Looking forward to seeing you Diane!!!
Looking forward to seeing you, too!
