I found shell heaven this week!
When I can be on a boat …
Filled with the nicest shellers in the world …
And Beach Bling…
Amazing things happen…
Great memories happen.
Happiness.
We even had DOLPHINS jumping beside the boat to welcome us to a spectacshellar day.
This all happened on our iLoveShelling Adventure with Sight Sea-R Cruises this week boating to Big Hickory Island, Florida. The island was loaded with awesome treasures.
And even more awesome shellers…
This is why I feel like I found shell heaven this week.
It’s not just about the shells but the experience we have along the way of finding them.
It’s about the different things we find that are beautiful to us.
And to share the experience.
To share the joy.
To share the experience with friends from the past…
And to meet new friends…
That’s not it… on every iLoveShelling Adventure …
Every passenger will receive a $25 gift certificate for Sealife By Congress Jewelry store!
Can you believe all the ALPHABET CONES, SHARKS EYES, GAUDY NATICAS, SEA PEARLS, ANGEL WINGS, SUNRAY VENUS, WORM SHELLS and BEACH BLING everybody found in all of the photos? It was crazy!
Oh wait… and I found a reeaaally cool shell too!
These trips are so much fun for me because I get to share a few tips and tricks that I’ve learned over lot of years combing our local beaches and give away shells – so I don’t normally keep any shells I find…but when I saw this “FREAK” FLORIDA CONE, Whoa…. Pounce! Look at that crazy spire.

PS- We may have had freaking awesome shelling on our beaches this week but you folks up north in these snow storms have been on our minds every second of the day. Please stay warm and stay safe… by thinking about sifting through shells.
Awesome shelling, boy would I like to have been there and not in over 2 feet of snow, and blizzard conditions for most of Saturday, no power for almost the whole day, and then the clean up. I think stooping for shells would have been much more pleasurable. Thank you Pam for sharing and making me feel like I was there, wow just lovely shelling, just a wee bit jealous.
Have a great day
M
This was so nice to look at after dealing with snow all weekend. I didn’t loose power like Malgorzata, but did have the 2+ feet of snow. Looks like everyone had a great time. Very cool freaky cone Pam. I love seeing mother nature’s ‘unusual’ work.
Very nice commentary and pictures. Seeing such happy people was a great way to start my day. Thank you, Pam!
Really fun stuff Pam! Thanks for letting us see it all!
It is so much fun seeing all the great shells and happy shellers. Pam, you are really working overtime to bring us great pictures/words with so many posts! Thanks for all of your hard work. These are memories that will last a lifetime–getting those special shells and meeting so many interesting people.
Oh my goodness, such great finds. I will be there Feb 1-9. I would like to ask a favor Pam, my 87 year old Dad would like to go shelling with me one day when I am there! What beach do you think would be best, looking for close parking so he doesn’t have to walk too far to find some shells! Thanks for your help. Renee’ 😎
Hi Rene! I would suggest going to the lighthouse parking lot on the gulf side of the lighthouse (not the fishing pier side). The parking is really close to the beach, there’s a nice bathroom and it’s a good shelling beach. The one problem… The lot fills up quickly- even the handicap spaces so get there early. Have a great time with your Dad and tell him I said “hi and have fun finding treasures”!
Thank you so much Pam. We will get an early start and send photos of our treasures! 🐚
Wowza! What an awesome shelling day for everyone!! I’m especially loving the Spiney Jewel Box–I just love the juxtaposition of the spiney outside of the shell and the pretty soft pink on the inside. It’s one of my all-time favorite shells!
I love that word… Juxtaposition. It’s the perfect description for the Jewelbox :)
Pam, we will be on Captiva the first week of June. Do you have any cruises planned then?
LOVE your Freak Florida Cone, what a fun find!
Glad to see the shelling is so good for your trip to Big Hickory.
I have been sorting shells while we had the blizzard clean up…..24 inches in Mountville PA.
I love looking at all the finds people have found. So much fun to shell.
Shellers are such great people. We had so much fun with you
and it was a great day! Thank you!! I have accumulated many wonderful shells to take home including the ones from our trip to Hickory Island. So far I have soaked them a few hours in soapy water and then in a plain water bucket to rinse. Even with nothing live, there is an oder. Any suggestions?
I am arriving Tuesday, Feb 9. Booked the I Love Shelling Shelling cruise on Wed. I am reading there is a RED TIDE alert . What effect does this have on the shelling and shells? Are you seeing evidence of the Red Tide on Sanibel Beaches as of 2-4-16? Thanks to anyone who will help me with an answer.
