We saw a LETTERED OLIVE “garden” on Cayo Costa during our iLoveShelling boating adventure with Captiva Cruises!
It took a little walk to the north of our boat to find this massive mound of seashells but… Wow! There it was…. a big fat beautiful pile of treasures washed up on the beach.
Quite a few OLIVES were rolling around in the water as well.
And a WENTLETRAP!
So much fun to experience this shell hunt with folks that feel the same way about shelling as I do…
And sharing shells and experiences…
Always makes me happy to spend time with great friends…
And to catch special appearances of wildlife like this pair of BALD EAGLES as we passed North Captiva island on the way back to McCarthy’s Marina. Thanks to captains John and Elliot for getting our boat close enough to see these majestic creatures.
And thank you to all of these amazing shellers!
PS- My apologies to these awesome folks for this delayed post (before Thanksgiving)… as this was a very bitter sweet day for Clark and me. After only 3 years of age, we lost our sweet, smart, funny, entertaining, amazing little PuppyCat to kidney issues this same day. I’m grateful to each and every person on this cruise which gave me laughter and much needed heartfelt happiness helping me more than you can imagine.
Especially to Kaitlyn….
So sorry, Pam, to hear about your kitty. Hugs to you. Looks like a great day shelling!
I am so sorry – we also call our one cat “puppycat”. My heart is breaking for you & Clark. From one animal lover to another, I send my love & a great big hug!
Oh Pam, I am sooooo sorry about PuppyCat. My heart aches for you. We will see you when we get back there. Love to you all
Oh, Pam, he should have had many more years with you. I’m so sorry. I hope that one day, you’ll see kitten paws on the beach, and they will make you smile as you think of your PuppyCat.
I’m so sorry to hear about PuppyCat! What an adorable kitty. My sweet Sage passed earlier this year one month shy of her 21st birthday. She had kidney disease for years. I miss her every day. See you in January on the ILS cruise to Cayo Costa!!
Pam and Clark, our heartfelt sympathy to you on the loss of your beloved pet. It’s true , they leave paw prints on your heart.
Super seller Dale( yes, he still lays claim to the title you gave him) and Sandi C , from Illinois.
Oh Pam, so sorry about your precious kitty. Love to you and Clark from one of your shelling sisters.
I’m so sorry to hear about sweet little Puppycat. It’s so heartbreaking when we lose our fur babies, but he had more love in his three short years than many have in a lifetime. ❤️
Pam and Clark
So very very sorry about PuppyCat.I remember when you got him.
One of our cats has kidney disease and we treat him for it daily and I won’t leave him in a cage at the vet’s office, therefore we have not traveled in 2 years. That is why you have not seen us. The other one is diabetic and same feeling for vet’s office. We lost one last December within a month of diagnosis. Again, so sorry and we miss you and the beach!!!

So sorry about PuppyCat😔 I know how hard it is to lose a wonderful pet especially so prematurely. Hugs and 😽. -April
Pam, I am sooooo sorry about PuppyCat. My heart aches for you.
We can’t wait to get back and join you on one of your shelling cruises again. So much fun.Folks, I highly recommend this. Plus, the lucky shell Pam gave me on the way resulted in 2 Junonias over the next 5 days at Blind Pass. Talk about a lucky shell!….
So very sorry to hear your sad news about PuppyCat…I too have lost a beloved tiger ‘Mr. Emily’ to kidney disease…so very sad to lose a member of the family :( Your heart will heal, but you’ll never forget. Many shellacious hugs your way …
Very sorry for your loss Pam and Clark.
I was there in September, I went on the cruise. In one hour I got 75 olives. They were everywhere. It was a very fun trip.
Sorry about your kitty Pam. It is so hard to lose a member of the family. We did not have much luck at Cayo last week but I did find Junonia last Tuesday at Blind Pass.
So sorry about your Puppycat Pam :(
We had an absolute wonderful day with you on Cayo Costa that day ~ especially Kaitlyn! Thanks for posting.

So sorry to hear about your kitty… we lost Maurice when he was only four years old to FIP… it was a total shock, he went in less than a month. You always feel the young ones got cheated…
Beautiful shelling photos… every time you post a video I feel I am back there, scooping up shells from the ocean. We loved our trip to Sanibel in 2015 and are planning a trip for 2017… hope to make one of your cruises.
So sorry for your loss! It was very brave to do the cruise nevertheless!! At least you could spend the day with nice people!
I’m so sorry to hear about PuppyCat. It is so painful to lose a furry family member.
Pam and clark, I’m very sorry to hear that PuppyCat has passed. Enjoy your sweet memories, I hope they can help. All the best, Donna
May the sorrow in your heart soon be filled with joyous memories of Puppy/Cat. Animals make us a better version of ourselves. Losing a pet breaks your heart but living without pets hardens it.
Oh Pam, so sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved Puppy/Cat. So hard to loose a “child” of the family. Remember all the great memories and happy times with your kitty to fill your heart.
So sorry PuppyCat passed away, I remember how thrilled you were the day you adopted him. It’s hard no matter how long or short a time that you’ve had the cat. You had a great day for your cruise and I loved your video.
Pat
Puppycat had the most loving parents that a kitty could ask for. My condolences for your loss.
Oh Pam and Clark, I am so sorry to hear about PuppyCat passing. 3 years certainly isn’t enough time but I’m sure he knew how lucky he was to be a part of your family. Yes, it was brave of you to go on the cruise. But I imagine that being surrounded by this wonderful shell community, you have to know that we all offer love and support. Good friends, old and new, help us to get thru difficult times. Our thoughts are with you. Katherine & Tom
I typed my name not Kathleen Ramos. Hmmmmm
