Evening walks on the beach by the Sanibel Lighthouse have been so lovely this week…. or should I say “shellovely” since beachcombing has been so much fun finding a few shells here and there too. ;)
Carlos and Stephanie actually found more than just a few… Wow! It really didn’t look like there were that many big shells on the beach but they have exceptional sheller’s eyes. They both said they had a blast working at getting that keen shelling focus in tune.
Marjorie found two pretty spectacsheller double SPINY JEWELBOXES completely empty with gorgeous colorful insides. Look at those amazing spines.
I was shelling too (of course…. duh. heehee) but mostly I was taking in some much needed beach therapy. I haven’t been able to take advantage of my long beach combing walks much this winter because of one reason or another. Real life happens even in paradise but to be able to see this makes me able to breathe again. I hope you can see those cute little tiny BUBBLE shells and a sweet little WHELK in this next photo set off with colorful puffy clouds and it makes you breathe a bit easier too. They are truly miracle workers.
Sheeesh and then the sun setting over the Sanibel pier…. be still my heart.
Ahhhhh and the perfect ending to a beautiful evening….
Hope everything is well with your u. Glad you got your beach therapy. 🏖
I’m a snow bird from Illinois and am back there now. Your posts relieve my “homesickness” for the beach! Thank you! I know what you mean about real life and needing beach therapy. There’s nothing like it. Good wishes to you!
Beach therapy is wonderful-but there is nothing like “Sanibel Island Beach Therapy”. Just 3 more weeks to go and I will be roaming the beaches of Sanibel Island. I can’t wait-I live for my 2 yearly visits there. Pam, you do live in paradise.

Dear Pam and fellow shell lovers,
Life does indeed get in the way for one reason or another. I so look forward to going to the beach for much needed beach therapy. Hope to make it this weekend. I will see Pam and others at the June 16th Sea Shelling Cruise to Cayo Costa. I’m bringing a Facebook Friend who lives in NE. It will be our first face to face meeting and her first shelling excursion. We are both looking forward to it very much. See you then (If not before).
Pam,
Sorry I missed you. We must have been there on the wrong night. :( It sure has been a beautiful week here on Sanibel. So sad to be heading home tomorrow.
Happy shelling everyone!!
Pam, we’re so grateful that, even as you take in your beach therapy, you take the time and care enough to share it with us so that we experience some therapy, too. Thanks for sharing the wonders of being at the beach in Sanibel.
Nice!
Wow!!! I was there Wednesday night and only live shells. Where were all these???
Nothing – Nothing- Nothing -can be better than a walk on Sanibel Beaches for Therapy for ME! Loved your sunset pictures Pam !!
Really missing the beach cameras from your site. They are all down or the sites won’t open.
We’ve had too many cloudy, rainy, and cool days here in the Midwest. Gotta have a Sanibel fix in October!
Love your posts and so enjoy the pictures of the shells found on my favorite island :) We were just on Sanibel 2 weeks ago and enjoyed our beach time, and much needed long walks looking for shells. Back to reality until our next visit this summer. Hope to go on a shelling trip with you Pam in the future. Do you have any scheduled in the summer months?
