Pam, does this boat pull right up to the beach? I went on another boat that went to a dock on bay side, then we took a tram into the park and then walked the rest of the way to the beach. I can’t do that walk now so I’m hoping it pulls up to the beach on gulf side. Hoping I can make the next trip with you!
Hi Susan G, the Sight Sea-R pulls right up to the beach on the bay side but it’s not a long walk to the gulf. And we even found shells on the walk to the gulf side this time. It was awesome!
Looks so fun! I totally enjoyed our trip to Hickory with you last April! While on Sanibel last week, I found a Junonia on Blind Pass beach!! Yay! Love your blog!!
I am glad you got to enjoy shelling on Big Hickory again….
.my favorite place to shell.
Can’t believe the alphabet cone they are HUGE! Lucky you guys being able to find such awesome shells.
I hope we get to go again soon.

Wow-all of those cones. That is one shell I have not found a lot of when I have come to Sanibel. I may have found a total of four in seven trips there. Someone really hit the jack pot. Missed my trip in the fall due to hurricanes and other pressing matters. Can’t wait to get back in the spring.
Looks like an awesome trip! My husband and I will be on Sanibel soon and I’m very excited to meet you on the Dec. 4 excursion! We had our first dusting of snow earlier this week and look forward to warmer temps.
Omigosh Gretchen- I’ve been trying to get dates together but I’m not sure that week is going to work- but…. I’m seriously trying!!!! I hope to get definites by Tuesday. THANK YOU!!!!
I loved your post about sea shelling in Turks and Caicos, but I had a question regarding bringing shells home. I’ve read that they have very strict laws about exporting seashells and many are confiscated by customs. Did you mail them home? I am planning a trip next summer so I’d really like to know.
Beautiful Shells. It makes me sad, cause I am back in Indiana. Thank you for sharing, Pam. I always look forward to these posts.

Love, love, love the worms..

Does the boat take you to the beach area near Pelicans Landing or where on the island? Hoping to see you in Feb. ;-)
Look at all those cones! I love the big alphabet cone with the stripes on it.

Hi,
Will you be doing any trips the first week in January?
We’d love to sign up sometime between 1/5 and 1/8.
Such great finds—watchin’ for shelling trip dates in early 2018, like a hawk!
Fantastic photos that make me yearn to come back to Sanibel!
